An amazing find from my parents house a few weeks back - "Do's and Don'ts: A Compendium of Hints and Information," published in the late 1970's or early 80's in Zimbabwe {there is no publication information noted but Zimbabwe is still referred to Rhodesia and this was received as a gift in the early 80's.}
One of my favorite do's: "To get the mark out when letting down a hem, rub over the crease with a piece of stale bread."
What?
Does that really work? I'm going to have to try.

What a find! I love they old hints they are so funny, yet we have to try them no matter how strange they possibly sound! So you have to let us know it the stale bread does the trick!!! = )
These books are really cool. I once saw this "Dos and Don'ts" instruction book for American and British soldiers during WW1. Really interesting and quite funny!
i know, the stale bread thing really cracks me up... i have to try it.. will definitely report back!
Sounds like Heloise may have some competition...
