Earlier this year I bought a lovely little water tower on from Up in the Air Somewhere on Etsy, which I love and have finally planted. So I was very happy to get an email from the designer, Susan Dwyer, letting me know that in addition to her Etsy store, Up in the Air Somewhere has also launched a new website where you can also purchase Susan's gorgeous work.
The photography is stunning; the site navigation is simple, elegant and understated, allowing the delicate ceramic and paper vessels to be properly showcased. In short, I love it: the new site, the photography, the work, to whole shebang. I am particularly fond of these gold lipped dishes which I can just see myself collecting [read: I'm in a whole heap of trouble].
And so my little water tower plant is having a grand old time being elevated and looking out over my apartment. I can't wait until it grows some more over the edge.

Jen did a wonderful job photographing children's accessories for the Autumn '08 issue of small magazine and, luckily for me, included some of my little beasts in the shoot!
The whole issue is so ridiculously cute, so much talent ... I'm particularly in love with the Jayme McGowan's illustrations.

We signed our new lease on Friday and we are new tenants in a wonderful big workspace.
Of course we already had a little party just amongst ourselves. Paint colors and space configurations discussed over sushi and sake.
Needless to say, as soon as we are up and running we will be having a much bigger party to celebrate... again.

. .. . . ..... . . . . .. . .... {Again with the legs}
Fell ill this morning and taking it slow today.
On a good note, and keep your fingers crossed even though I might be jinxing the whole thing by bringing it up, I think.... THINK... we've secured our new workspace and could moving in as early as this weekend. Toes crossed too.

I walked past this wonderful watermark... doesn't it look like a topographic map of some unknown continent?
I love topographic maps. I could look endlessly at the lines, how they tighten and condense with increased slope and expand again for flatness.
I like that this topo map came from the watering of this plant. What a nice legacy.

I need/lust after these stools by nendo for Cappellini. They received a design distinction in I.D. Magazine's 2008 Annual Design Review.
They are just so pretty... I can imagine them very clearly in my fantasy workspace. A little too clearly.

Last week we had a fairly sizeable earthquake... no damage, but scary nonetheless. The building that I live in has been standing since the 1920's so obviously it's solid enough to have survived this long. Some reassurance.
That said, the earthquake made me want to document my apartment as it is. You never know. I love this place, despite my mess and tendancy to move things about constantly. I'll probably be moving into a workspace soon with some friends and it will not look the same. And so, to start the documentation: a collage inspired by PLAN via 2 or 3 things. I would have liked to take some actual plan photos, but this will do for now.
And just to whet one's appetite for beautiful workspaces, below is a space we are considering.
My word...I could just sit in it all day and look out the windows.
